Norel Animal Nutrition and PT Sehat Cerah Indonesia jointly organized a two-day seminar in Jakarta and Surabaya on 13-14 November to launch Gustor N’rgy, based on the fourth generation of partially protected sodium butyrate, as an alternative to antibiotic growth promoters (AGP) for the poultry industry in Indonesia.
The event focused on the current market trend, challenges and future solutions to reduce the usage of AGPs in the layer, broiler and breeder industries. It was well attended by more than 200 professionals from the poultry production chain in Indonesia.
It was an incredible occasion to share the latest technologies and solutions offered by Norel and they were presented by the product managers, Bernat Canal from flavours department, Cinta Sol from technical additives department and Allan Junsay, regional technical manager for Asia Pacific.
The event has been enriched by the participation of highly knowledgeable and well-known professionals in the Indonesian industry, Dr. Tony Unandar, independent consultant for the poultry farm industry, and Prof. Ali Agus, professor at the faculty of animal science UGM.
In particular, Dr. Unandar highlighted the current challenges of the poultry industry and the importance of identifying their potential needs, while Prof. Agus had the opportunity to show the first-hand results from a local trial performed at the UGM facility where the new products offered by Norel has proven to improve the animal performances in the real actual conditions obtaining higher Indonesian Performance Indexes.
Ricardo Communod, commercial director for APAC in Norel, also presented on the importance of identifying and offering the solutions to improve and maintain high quality raw materials and feed, as a pivotal step in combination with the biosecurity, genetics and management in reducing the utilization of the AGPs.
