The present study, presented recently in APSS 2014, studied the effect of different presentations of butyric acid on laying hens performance (feed efficiency, egg production) and egg quality. The treatments were: sodium butyrate protected with palm stearine (GUSTOR BP70) and calcium butyrate (CB). A total of 2490 White Leghorn (BV 300) laying hens (38 weeks old) were used in this experiment. They were housed in 30 identical pens (10 pens per treatment). Both groups received the same dose of butyric acid (280 g/MT) for a period of 16 weeks. Responses were compared with a non supplemented treatment.
