The conference dealt with the importance of flavouring in young animals in order to improve the appetite and the palatability, also how to avoid the fall of intake during the first days after weaning. Jorge Zárate, engineer and technical director of Norel Mexico, discussed “The use of sodium butyrate in pigs”. He emphasised the special beneficial effects on the GIT and the reduction of pathogenic intestinal bacteria.
