Among all mycotoxins, Aflatoxins are the main concern to the dairy industry. Levels of Aflatoxin M1 in fresh milk are commonly monitored. In EU for instance, milk containing more than 0.05 μg/kg of M1, cannot be used in any product that is related to the human food chain. Mycotoxin binders from combination of clays, have demonstrated their efficacy in lowering contamination levels of Aflatoxin B1 in vitro, and also its metabolite in milk M1. Toxinor and Toxifree, two of our toxin binders are currently increasing its presence in markets like China, where the quality of the milk is still a concern for the consumer due to the background of this market. The combination of three different ingredients, two clays and a diatomaceous earth, maximizes the binding capacity of mycotoxins, and reduce the risk to interfere with other ingredients of the diets. In a recent in vivo trial conducted in China the AFM1 level in milk was measured before and after the application of Toxifree in the ration. The calculated level of Aflatoxin in the ration was known to be very high due to the use of contaminated cottonseed and corn. Therefore the level of AFM1 in milk was very close to the legal limits (0.5 µg/kg). After 17 days using Toxifree @ 1 g/kg of concentrate, the levels of the toxin were reduced in a 96% setting this value back to an acceptable level for the market
