New article published in Poultry Science
In the poultry sector, maintaining gut health is key to maximizing production efficiency and ensuring bird welfare. Our latest publication in Poultry Science—authored by Abdelhacib Kihal, Product Manager at NOREL —explores the impact of protected sodium butyrate (PSB) supplementation in broilers.
Through a meta-analysis including 17 published studies by Norel Animal Nutrition, results demonstrated that PSB:
✅ Improves body weight gain and feed conversion ratio.
✅ Increases intestinal villi height and consequently, enhances nutrient absorption
✅ Contributes to higher overall production efficiency (EPEF).
These findings highlight the role of PSB as a strategic tool to optimize gut health and productivity in modern poultry production.
