Norel, at the Pet Food Mexican Forum
Due to the importance that the pet food industry has taken during recent years, the Asociación Mexicana de Productores de Alimentos, A.C. (Mexican Association of Feed Producers) organizes the annual FORO MEXICO SOBRE ALIMENTO PARA MASCOTAS (Pet food Mexico Forum). The 2015 edition was celebrated on 11th and 12th of June, in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. NOREL, was present at the event, where both producers and suppliers from this industry coincide, making the event a perfect place for updates on different topics and generate a closer relationship between members from the industry. This year, the forum featured the participation of renowned speakers at the scientific-technical seminar and more than 30 Mexican and foreign companies involved in commercial areas where NOREL had a stand for visitors who gathered from across the country and abroad, receiving visitors from El Salvador, Honduras, Ecuador, Peru, among others. Nowadays our 4-legged companions play a social and emotional function, as people humanize these animals becoming part of the family. Therefore, the importance of being attentive to the health, food, physical activity and recreation of our pets. It is estimated that the population of dogs and cats in Mexico is about 27 million (about 19.3 million are dogs and 7.7 million are cats). 52% of them have a home. Also, it is estimated that 77% of dogs and 45% of cats living in a house are fed by processed feeds. (Source: AMEPA, 2015)
