Norel Launches a New Molasses Flavour

Natural sweeteners have the advantage over artificial ones, such as saccharin, that can be used in all animal species without restrictions or dose limits. Stevia is one of the natural sweeteners increasingly used in all species. It is obtained from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant, native to Paraguay, and is about 300 times sweeter than sugar. The taste of Stevia is also more delayed and more persistent than sugar. Thaumatine is a protein obtained from the fruit of the Katemfe (Thaumatococcus Daniellii), a tree native to Africa. Its sweetening power is estimated to be 2500 times stronger than sugar and its perception, in the same way as Stevia, it is also delayed and very persistent. Norel launches into the market APETENZYMA 1590 TS, an innovative molasses flavor formulated with natural identical substances and reinforced with the sweet taste from Stevia and Thaumatine. This new flavor confers to the feed with a highly attractive and persistent molasses smell but also a smooth and lasting sweetness; 1 kg of APETENZYMA 1590 TS is equivalent to 20 kg of molasses in sweetness. This flavor is suitable for all species but it is specially interesting for ruminants, where the European regulation is more restrictive with the use of artificial sweeteners. APETENZYMA 1590 TS improves the appetence and palatability of the feed, achieving a greater acceptance of the feed and increasing its intake
