The treatments were: T1 \u2013 Control feed without additives; T2 \u2013 GUSTOR N\u2019RGY (1Kg\/t of feed), 70% NaBut protected with sodium salts of PFAD, BA=56%; T3 \u2013 GUSTOR COATED (2.19Kg\/t), 32% NaBut encapsulated with palm stearine, BA=25.6%; T4 \u2013 GUSTOR BCP5 (0.8Kg\/t), 85% CaBut protected with palm stearine, BA=69.9%; T5 \u2013 Tributyrin (0.65 Kg\/t), 99% Glicerol tributyrate, BA=86.4%. The same amount of BA was included in all treatments. The parameters evaluated were: BW, FCR, feed consumption (FC) and EPEF. There was a trend to have different Final BW (35 days), being T2 birds the heavier and T1 the lighter (2367y, 2441x, 2414xy, 2374y, and 2389xy for T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 respectively; P=0.088). FCR was significant different being the lowest for T5, which improved the T1 situation as well as T2 and T3 (1.51c, 1.47ab, 1.46ab, 1.48bc, 1.44a for T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 respectively; P=0.004). No differences were found in FC or EPEF. It was concluded that the better results in performance were achieved with GUSTOR N\u2019RGY and Tributyrin, being GUSTOR N\u2019RGY broilers heavier than the Control broilers. It seems that the salt of BA, sodium or calcium also determined the effectiveness of the additive.
